I’m at Virginia Tech attending the Annual Meeting of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture. Continuing education is required to maintain Arborists’ certification.
The Mid-Atlantic Chapter has a 2-day meeting. The first day is a field day, the second day is indoor sessions. Topics such as tree biology & ecology, tree pests, soil science, and safety for tree care workers are covered.
Dr. John Seiler of Virginia Tech leads Arborists on a tour of Stadium Woods during the field day
Dudley Hartel of the US Forest Service talks about the Arborists’ role in disaster preparedness
It’s hard to believe I’ve been a certified arborist for 20 years now! The learning network provided by MAC-ISA and ISA have been invaluable to my professional development. As always, I learned new things and met new colleagues at the 2014 MAC-ISA Annual Meeting.
The Consulting Group at SavATree is a proud sponsor of the MAC-ISA 2014 Annual Meeting. Many thanks to Dr. Susan Day and Dr. Eric Wiseman for their work in supporting a great meeting at Virginia Tech.
