Yesterday, Tour des Trees riders navigated the extensive network of trails that make the metro region of Washington D.C. so bikeable. Today they’re cycling 80 miles south to Gainesville, Virginia by way of the Mount Vernon trail and a mix of urban, residential and rural roads. They’ll enjoy dinner and an overnight in Gainesville.
Tomorrow — the last full ride of the Tour — riders will head back to National Harbor, Maryland through Loudon Country, Virginia’s scenic wine and equestrian country.
SavATree is a proud supporting partner of STIHL Tour Des Trees — a week-long, 500 to 600-mile (rain or shine!) cycling tour that supports the TREE Fund. Each of the 100 full-Tour riders commits to raising a minimum of $3500, with 100% of those donations going to TREE Fund (Tree Research and Education Endowment Fund.) TREE Fund works to sustain the world’s urban forests by providing funding for scientific research, education programs and scholarships related to arboriculture and urban forestry.
