Being Part of the Conversations that Matter
The SavATree Consulting Group works hard to stay visible and lend their voice and expertise to the conversations that matter in the tree care industry. Whether it’s assisting with development of best practices or lending expert testimony in court, the Consulting Group has a voice in the important conversations. Here is a look at some recent activity:
- One of four invited reviewers contributing to “Urban Forestry: Toward an Ecosystem Services Research Agenda: A Workshop Summary,” a publication of the National Research Council of the National Academies of Sciences;
- Continued participation in the Baltimore Ecosystem Study, a National Science Foundation Long-Term Ecological Research project, one of only two urban LTER’s world-wide;
- Became a Strategic Partner of the Sustainable Urban Forest Coalition;
- Represented the Alliance for Community Trees on the American National Standards Institute A300 committee, the committee that oversees issuance of the national industry consensus standards for tree care practices;
- Serves presently as an Observer to the American National Standards Institute A300 committee;
- Participated in hearings and provided public comment for the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, Maryland Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH) Unit’s new Tree Care Safety regulations;
