Our Employees

Among SavATree’s more than 1800 employees, 65% of them are field-based arborists and specialists located in our 55 branch offices across the country, and directly involved in delivering arboriculture services to client properties.

At SavATree, Safety is Job #1

Employee Safety. SavATree has robust safety programs and requirements for all its employees.  These safety policies are aligned with industry standards and OSHA requirements.

Safe Use of Equipment. The company trains its field-based team members on the methods to operate equipment and complete their work duties safely.

Additionally, our branch managers and corporate service-line directors regularly audit team members for safety compliance and elicit suggestions for improving its safety policies and requirements.

SavATree Ranks High in Safety Culture. When recently completing the National Safety Council survey to measure its employee safety culture, SavATree scored in the 92nd percentile of all companies that participated in the survey.

 

SavATree Wins Tree Care Industry Association Safety Award Every Year Since 2014. At the annual conference of the TCIA, SavATree was recognized for our multi-faceted and proactive initiative to improve the company safety culture.

SavATree Makes TCIA Donation for Arborist Safety Training. In 2019, SavATree committed to making a $10,000 donation to the Tree Care Industry Association’s Arborist Safety Training Institute for every TCIA-certified company we acquire.

Employee Training & Development

SavATree is committed to providing our employees with opportunities for career advancement and professional growth. Most of our arborists and field specialists are degreed professionals who have acquired all required licenses and certifications to do business in the states where we operate. Our arboricultural teams receive continuous hands-on, online and classroom training, including certifications.

  • Continuing education and skill development. Most employees obtain continuing education credits and advanced training through our in-house self-advancement training program or through recognized industry training programs, all of which supports career progression through demonstrated skill development
  • Leadership development. SavATree promotes advancement of its leadership teams  through individual development plans and mentor-mentee matched pairs to support accelerated learning and professional growth.

Our Community

Stewardship Education

SavATree believes one of the best ways to give back to our communities is to share our knowledge of environmentally sensible landscape stewardship. Our team annually participates in over 250 community and trade events. More than 900 people attend our workshops, talks, garden walks, and webinars each year — all of which are focused on bringing sustainable practices to the residential and community landscapes.

Philanthropy

Since 2016, SavATree has focused our corporate charity work on Boys & Girls Clubs of America — a nationwide organization started more than a century ago to provide safe and enjoyable places, life-enhancing programs, and caring mentors for children and teens. Our partnership with more than fifty Boys and Girls Clubs allows us to provide needed resources to the communities we serve, to share our passion for the great outdoors, and to fund programs that provide a positive impact on the youngest members of our society.

SavATree Builds and Donates Bicycles to Boys and Girls Club of Passaic, NJ. SavATree employees collaborated with the Boys & Girls Club of Passaic, NJ to hold a “bike build,” with the finished bicycles going to 28 deserving children at the Club. [Read more]

SavATree CEO Honored at Boys and Girls Club Annual Humanitarian Awards Dinner.  The Boys and Girls Club of Northern Westchester presented its Humanitarian Award to SavATree CEO Daniel van Starrenburg.
