If soil tests reveal your soil is either too acidic or too alkaline, the application of certain minerals — such as lime, gypsum, or sulfur — can correct the imbalance. A balanced pH allows lawn fertilizer and existing nutrients to be better absorbed by the grass plants in your landscape.
