Tree & Landscape Appraisal

Trees are an essential part of life. In addition to their obvious aesthetic appeal, they also provide us with shade, regulate temperatures, improve air quality, reduce storm water runoff, provide shelter and food to wildlife and people, and provide many other benefits.

Determining Tree & Landscape Value

The majority of tree appraisals are done after removal or damage of some kind has taken place. However, the best time to obtain an accurate value is while the tree is still standing.

The certified arborists at the Consulting Group give accurate, documented tree appraisals to establish property value, tax deductions and adjusting insurance claims using the standard guidelines for determining urban and residential tree values set by the Council of Tree and Landscape Appraisers (CLTA). Although aesthetic appeal can be subjective, this standard is widely accepted by qualified experts. With a combination of advanced technology and an established process, our arborists provide professional, unbiased valuations.

Our Process

  • Define the appraisal problem
  • Define the scope of work
  • Collect relevant data
  • Analyze the data by applying the relevant valuation approaches, methods and techniques
  • Reconcile
  • Prepare our  report

Consulting & Testifying Expertconsulting arborist assessing trees

Sometimes a tree-related matter becomes the subject of an insurance claim or lawsuit. This may happen if a tree causes property damage, bodily injury, or fatality, or when the value of a tree or trees that was damaged by a storm or a person is the subject of an insurance claim or a legal action. As consulting and testifying experts, we work with attorneys, insurance companies and other organizations to provide expert opinion on tree condition, tree values, and industry standards.

Wildfire Assessmentsaftermath of forest fire

Wildfires can cause devastating damage to public and private properties. They commonly occur in dry, hot atmospheres and typically burn anywhere from 8 to 10 million acres of property each year in the United States. Trees make for perfect fuel for wildfires and are at a high risk for damage.

The SavATree Consulting Group performs appraisals of tree damage resulting from the devastating effects of forest fires as well as replenishable space evaluations.
