Tree Preservation Ordinance Review

The SavATree Consulting group works across the country and has experience with a wide variety of tree ordinances. Tree permit requirements may be triggered by an activity such as:

Municipal Project – City of Lakeville, MN

The city’s goal was to remove invasive species in the public right-of-way. They wanted to make sure they were not removing trees that were on private land, so they consulted with the experts at SavATree. We used a city-supplied GIS parcel layer, which was loaded into an ESRI ArcGIS Online map project and exported the map into a web application which could be used on a phone, laptop or desktop. The web application was able to use GPS technology to locate trees, turn various map layers on and off, switch between a variety of base maps, measure distances, print and share. Through the use of this advanced GIS technology, we were able to help the city locate invasive trees in the right-of-way and create a thorough plan on how to manage their project.

Contract Services

Some public agencies do not have a full time arborist on staff or need a contract arborist to perform certain services to support the staff arborist. The SavATree Consulting Group has experienced consulting arborists that can perform plan review, permit review, site inspections and other similar municipal functions.
