Nature Tech

If you’re a nature or tree lover with a smartphone or tablet device, there is a world of apps out there waiting to be discovered. Here are a few of our favorites:

For the Budding Arborist…

Audubon Trees – A Field guide to North American Trees
While a bit pricey, this is a great, fullfeatured app with color photographs of over 890 species. It goes a step further by including in-depth descriptions as well as the ability to search by species, shape or name. A great all around app for tree lovers.

For the Kids…

iPad-owning parents in need of an app to keep their kids entertained will appreciate this game that features tiny ninjas doing their best to scale trees while dodging bad guys and, of course, gravity.
