Last week we had a great time at TreeBaltimore’s winter gathering at Cylburn Arboretum’s Vollmer Center.
A packed house broke bread and heard about what’s been happening and what’s on the horizon for TreeBaltimore.
The effort provides technical and resource assistance in a variety of ways, from free trees to how to plant a tree to Tree-Ups (partnering with non-tree groups to find new audiences for tree planting).
You can learn more about TreeBaltimore’s programs here.
One of the great new initiatives debuted at the meeting was the Baltimore City Notable Trees Map.
The map has four categories: City Champions, Exemplary Specimens, State Champions, and Unusual Species. Baltimore City is home to five of Maryland’s State Champion Trees! You can access the map here.
TreeBaltimore does a fantastic job of building awareness and engaging partners to reach Baltimore’s tree canopy goal. We are happy to be partners with them in the effort.
The Consulting Group at SavATree provides project support to the US Forest Service Northern Research Station, a partner of TreeBaltimore.
