I had a great time Friday night at the 17th Annual Treasure the Chesapeake Celebration in Annapolis. The event is a fundraiser to support the work of the Chesapeake Bay Trust.
The Chesapeake Bay Trust is a nonprofit grant-making organization dedicated to improving the Chesapeake Bay and its rivers through environmental education, community outreach, and local watershed restoration. Since its inception in 1985, the Trust has awarded $70 million in grants and engaged hundreds of thousands of citizen stewards in projects that have a measurable impact on the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries.
It was a beautiful night and great to connect to members of the philanthropic and green communities. I even had the pleasure of meeting another Mike Galvin!
The event sponsors deserve recognition for supporting a great organization and event. Speaking of support, it’s still not too late to support the great work of the Trust even if you missed the Celebration. You can get a Maryland Bay License Plate, donate by check off at tax time, or donate here any time.
We’ll look for you at the 18th Annual Treasure the Chesapeake Celebration. Get there early for some fresh Chesapeake oysters!
