What do you like to do in your spare time? I have two children and we enjoy camping. I am also a member of the local fire department rescue squad and the Lions Club, so my volunteer work in the community keeps me busy.
How did you get started with (St. Croix) SavATree? I’m from a small town. Back then, the owner liked to hire people who grew up on a farm because he figured they were hard working. Over the years, I’ve held nearly every specialist position, became a full time mechanic, and was recently promoted to Operations Manager.
Most memorable SavATree moment? One thing we have done each year is spend time at the local high school taking care of their trees, paths, and gardens. I remember this from when I was in school, so it’s satisfying to be a part of it now that I can contribute.
What do you enjoy most about your job? When I worked on a crew, storm work was always special because people would be so happy to see us and so appreciative of our help. Currently, I like using Lean Sigma initiatives to make things easier for the crews and help them do a better job. I especially enjoy conveying customer compliments back to the team.
