Bedford Hills, NY—January 1, 2019—SavATree, an industry leader in tree, shrub, and lawn care with 34 branches across the country, has made a donation of $20,000 to the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) in support of arborist safety training.

For every TCIA-certified company they acquire, SavATree has committed to making a $10,000 donation to TCIA’s Arborist Safety Training Institute. With SavATree’s recent acquisitions of Mike’s Tree Surgeons in Troy, Michigan and Integrity Tree Service in Phoenix, Arizona, they have set aside $20,000 to help support safety training across the country.

“Safety is a crucial part of our mission at SavATree,” said President, Daniel van Starrenburg. “We’re committed not just to keeping our own crews safe, but to helping maintain safety across the entire tree care industry. As we continue to expand throughout the country, ensuring safety as one of our values takes center stage. Supporting TCIA’s initiatives is one of the best ways to do that.”

SavATree’s Nick Bomber, a safety leader in the industry, has taken SavATree’s program to a new level by focusing on the many leading indicators of incident prevention and developing a “see something, say something” safety culture. According to Nick, “Safety is one of our core values and is ingrained in everything we do at all levels. Our safety message, ‘Path to Zero,’ makes sure that every one of our employees goes home the same way they came to work—incident and accident free.”

Nick recently added Branch Manager to his responsibilities, where he is bringing SavATree safety practices to the new team in Michigan.
