Today I was proud to be part of the launch of the Greater Baltimore Wilderness Coalition. The Coalition is a voluntary alliance of agencies, NGOs, and professional associations supporting a vision for a connected green infrastructure network in the Greater Baltimore region. The Coalition will have four focus areas: resilience; biodiversity; equity; and, discovery.
Coalition members came to Ridgely’s Cove along the Gwynns Falls Trail to celebrate with members of Congress, the Mayor of Baltimore, officials from the Department of Interior, US Fish and Wildlife Service, US Geological Survey, National Park Service, EPA, the MD Secretaries of Environment and Natural Resources, and a host of others.

Many thanks to all those that braved the heat today to kick off an exciting chapter of enhancing coastal resilience in Baltimore and surrounding areas with green infrastructure. We look forward to working together towards a greener Baltimore region.
