SavATree Sponsors Garden Tour to Benefit Westchester and Putnam Girl Scouts

Rye, New York—June 9, 2006—Today SavATree announced its sponsorship of the 7th annual summer garden tour “Rhapsody in Bloom,” to benefit the Girl Scouts of Westchester and Putnam County (GSA). The tour will grant visitors access to nine privately owned gardens in Rye, NY, and takes place on July 15th between 10 A.M. and 4 P.M. GSA Manager of Marketing and Special Events Sue Dishart said, “The only way to see these homes is through the garden tour. It is a unique opportunity for garden enthusiasts to unite.”

There are a variety of designs ranging from a woodland pond garden, to a formal, grand estate garden. The tour annually attracts 600 people from all over the tri-state area. SavATree Consulting Arborist Scott Boyce commented that “The best part of this event is that magnificent gardens will be highlighted and people will gain a greater appreciation of gardens and landscapes.”

For the first time, the Girl Scouts will offer a lunch at Wainwright House, a seventeenth century French chateau located on Milton Point, with breathtaking views of the harbor. There will also be raffles for over 75 gift certificates donated by local businesses that include local garden centers and restaurants. All proceeds raised at the event will be used to support the 17,000 members of the GSA all over Westchester and Putnam Counties. Sue Dishart added, “Because of corporate sponsors such as SavATree, we are able to have all proceeds go directly to the girl scouts. Our mission statements are very similar; we are both cultivating new friendships and trying to make the world a better place.” For more information, contact us at [email protected] or (800)-341-8733.
