Arborists Help Todd School Plant Arbor Day Tree

Briarcliff, NY —May 2, 2007— Brad Gurr and Chad Otrosinka, SavATree arborists who service the Briarcliff NY, Mount Pleasant NY and Ossining NY area, recently visited the Todd Elementary School in Briarcliff NY to teach kindergartners about trees and help students plant a weeping cherry tree. The arborists also handed out saplings for each child, so they too, could plant their own trees in celebration of Arbor Day.

“It was a beautiful sunny day, we couldn’t have asked for better weather or a better group of kids. We spoke to the children about the importance of trees and had a very lively discussion about their role in our environment. The children helped us plant the cherry tree and then watered it.” said Chad Otrosinka.

Jayne Barrch, a teacher at the Todd School said, “The children enjoyed the presentation and we really learned many important things about planting our own trees and taking care of the farm we were starting the next day. [Brad and Chad] had a very nice way with the children and they enjoyed this special event. They were telling us about where they were planning to plant the trees you gave to them when they came in the next day.

The Todd School is part of the Briarcliff Manor NY School District in Briarcliff New York. For more information about the Todd School visit their web site at www.briarcliffschools.org
