The Reception and Annual Meeting of the Sustainable Urban Forests Coaliton were great successes.
Wednesday night we had our reception at the U.S. Botanic Garden on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.

We are grateful to our host, the U.S. Botanic Garden and to our Sponsor, Congressman David Joyce, for allowing us to gather and share at this facility.
On Thursday it was on to the work, and the Annual meeting covered planning, policy, advocacy, budget, research, and other needs and focus areas of the organization.

The Sustainable Urban Forests Coalition is made up of an impressive array of national NGOs, federal agencies such as USDA Forest Service and US EPA, and private sector strategic partners. This NGO-public-private partnership is a powerful network to advance and advocate for sustainable urban forests in cities and towns across the country.
We’re very grateful to outgoing Chair Don Winsett for his excellent leadership an service and excited to support incoming Chair Paul Ries as he leads us going forward.
