A Year-Round Pruning Plan

Custom-Built for Your Property

The Seasonal Pruning Program is a proactive, year-round tree care plan designed and managed by a dedicated and experienced ISA Certified Arborist®. Rather than scheduling pruning as issues arise, your arborist develops a long-term strategy for your property, determining which trees need attention, when pruning should occur, and how care should be phased over time. Each year, your arborist evaluates your trees based on species, condition, location, structure, and your landscape goals. The result is healthier trees, reduced storm risk, and a more attractive property, without the burden of tracking pruning schedules or deciding what needs attention next.

How the Program Works

Property Walk-Through & Assessment

Every program begins with a complimentary property walk-through. Your dedicated arborist evaluates your trees, identifies current concerns, and assesses factors such as species, age, structure, health, and proximity to homes, driveways, and other important areas. This assessment serves as the foundation for your customized pruning plan.

Custom Annual Care Plan

Using the information gathered during the assessment, your arborist creates a tailored pruning strategy for your property. The plan outlines which trees should be pruned this season, which may benefit from a multi-year approach, and how future care should be prioritized as your landscape matures.

Scheduled Seasonal Visits

Once your plan is established, pruning visits are scheduled at the appropriate times of year based on your trees' needs. Your arborist ensures each tree receives the right care at the right time using industry-approved pruning practices designed to support long-term health, safety, and appearance.

Phased Care for Mature Trees

Large, mature trees often benefit from gradual improvements over multiple seasons. Rather than removing too much at once, your arborist prioritizes structural concerns and risk reduction while preserving tree health, creating meaningful improvements over time.

Storm Risk Reduction

Routine pruning helps address weak, dead, damaged, or poorly attached limbs before they become hazards. By proactively managing structural issues, the program helps reduce the likelihood of storm-related damage to your trees and property.

Ongoing Arborist Oversight

Because the same arborist returns to your property over time, they develop a deep understanding of your landscape and can identify changes that might otherwise go unnoticed. This continuity allows for more informed recommendations and a consistently evolving care plan.

Which Trees Benefit Most?

Ornamental Trees & Shrubs

Many ornamental species benefit from regular pruning to maintain structure, appearance, flowering performance, and overall health. Common examples include Japanese maple, crape myrtle, dogwood, redbud, magnolia, and flowering cherry.

Trees Near Structures or Walkways

Trees growing near homes, driveways, patios, walkways, and other high-use areas often require ongoing pruning to maintain clearance, reduce risk, and prevent conflicts with structures.

Mature Trees Requiring Structural Improvement

Older trees frequently benefit from a long-term approach that prioritizes safety while gradually improving canopy structure and balance.

Privacy Evergreens

Species such as arborvitae, Leyland cypress, and juniper require careful pruning to maintain density and effectiveness as screening plants. Proper timing and technique are essential to preserve their appearance and long-term function.

FAQs

  •

The Seasonal Pruning Program is a recurring, subscription-style tree care plan managed by a dedicated ISA Certified Arborist®. Instead of calling for service each time, your property is assessed annually, and pruning visits are automatically scheduled once or twice per year, based on a custom plan built around your trees, species, goals, and budget.

  •

Your arborist conducts a thorough on-site property walk-through to assess each tree and evaluate species, structural condition, proximity to structures, and your priorities. From there, they build a phased annual care plan specifying which trees are pruned this season, which are on a longer rotation, and what to monitor going forward.

  •

Most program clients receive one or two scheduled visits per year, depending on the size and complexity of their property, the species present, and their goals. Your arborist will recommend the right cadence during the initial property walk-through.

  •

The program is designed to cover the trees that are candidates for seasonal pruning on your property. Not every tree needspruning every year; your arborist will identify which ones require attention this season and which are on a longer rotation, ensuring that care is applied where it will have the most benefit.

  •

The program works well for ornamental trees and shrubs (Japanese maple, crepe myrtle, dogwood, magnolia, flowering cherry, etc.), trees near structures or walkways, mature trees benefiting from a phased structural improvement approach, and privacy evergreens like arborvitae, Leyland cypress, and juniper.

  •

Scheduled pruning removes dead, weak, or co-dominant limbs and addresses structural defects, such as included bark, poor attachment angles, and excessive end weight, before they fail under wind or storm load. This significantly reduces the likelihood of limb failure and the resulting damage to your home, vehicles, and family.
