Healthier trees, a safer property, and a landscape that looks its best, without you tracking what needs pruning or when. The Seasonal Pruning Program puts a dedicated ISA Certified Arborist® in charge of that plan: which trees get pruned this year, which are on a phased schedule, and what to watch heading into next season.

The result: healthier trees, lower storm risk, and a landscape that looks its best year-round, with no guesswork on your end about what needs attention or when.

What You Get with the Seasonal Pruning Program

One or More Scheduled Visits Per Year

Your pruning visits are automatically included in your annual care plan, once or twice per year, depending on your needs.

Expert Assessment, Every Season

Your dedicated arborist walks your property each year to determine exactly what needs pruning so nothing is missed.

Species-Specific Care

We rotate pruning based on species, condition, location, and your goals, ensuring each tree is cared for at the right time.

Storm & Safety

Proactive pruning removes weak limbs and mitigates structural defects before they fail, reducing storm risk to your home and family.

Health & Curb Appeal

Well-timed cuts promote stronger growth, better structure, and a balanced canopy, so your landscape looks its best year-round.

SavATree's Seasonal Pruning Program

We build your customized pruning plan based on a thorough property walk-through and arborist assessment, then perform visits at the right times of year to ensure optimal results for every tree. Here is what you can expect:

Property Walk-Through & Assessment

Every program begins with a complimentary property walk-through. Your dedicated arborist inspects every tree on your property, evaluates species, structure, condition, and location, and identifies priorities for the coming season. This on-site consultation is the foundation of your custom plan.

Custom Annual Care Plan

Based on your assessment, we build a phased pruning schedule tailored to your trees' species, age, and goals. The plan specifies which trees are pruned this season, which are on a two-year rotation, and what to monitor going into next season, giving you full visibility into the scope, timing, and budget in advance.

Scheduled Seasonal Visits

Your pruning visits are automatically scheduled once or twice per year, depending on your needs, so you never have to call to remind us. Each visit is performed by trained, ISA Certified Arborists® using proper pruning techniques specific to each tree's biology and your landscape goals.

Phased Approach for Mature Trees

Mature trees with complex structure or significant defects benefit from a gradual, multi-season approach. We prioritize the highest-risk limbs first, then improve structure and canopy balance progressively over multiple visits, so we can make meaningful improvements without over-stressing the tree in any single season.

Storm Risk Reduction

One of the most critical functions of scheduled pruning is proactive storm preparation. Our arborists identify and remove weak, dead, or co-dominant limbs and address structural defects before they fail, which significantly reduces the risk of wind and storm damage to your home, vehicles, and family.

Season-to-Season Continuity

Because the same dedicated arborist returns to your property each year, they build genuine knowledge of your trees over time. They can track changes, catch emerging issues early, and adjust the care plan as your trees grow and your goals evolve, providing a level of continuity that one-time visits simply cannot match.

Which Trees Benefit Most?

Your property may be an ideal fit for the Seasonal Pruning Program if it includes any of the following tree types or situations.

Ornamental Trees & Shrubs

Almost all ornamentals benefit from yearly or every-other-year pruning. Common candidates include Japanese maple, crepe myrtle, dogwood, redbud, magnolia, flowering cherry, and many other species that reward careful, timed attention.

Trees Near Structures or Walkways

Any tree, of any size, that grows near your home, outbuildings, driveways, or walkways, or that is used for privacy and screening, benefits significantly from proactive seasonal care to reduce risk and maintain clearance.

Mature Trees Needing a Phased Approach

Older trees often require structural improvement spread over multiple seasons. A phased approach lets us prioritize the highest-risk limbs first and gradually improve canopy balance without stressing the tree with aggressive, large-scale cuts in a single visit.

Privacy Evergreens

Species like arborvitae, Leyland cypress, and juniper will not regrow from older interior wood, making precise timing and technique essential. Without proper seasonal care, these trees can become thin, patchy, and ineffective as screens over time.

FAQs

  •

The Seasonal Pruning Program is a recurring, subscription-style tree care plan managed by a dedicated ISA Certified Arborist®. Instead of calling for service each time, your property is assessed annually, and pruning visits are automatically scheduled once or twice per year, based on a custom plan built around your trees, species, goals, and budget.

  •

Your arborist conducts a thorough on-site property walk-through to assess each tree and evaluate species, structural condition, proximity to structures, and your priorities. From there, they build a phased annual care plan specifying which trees are pruned this season, which are on a longer rotation, and what to monitor going forward.

  •

Most program clients receive one or two scheduled visits per year, depending on the size and complexity of their property, the species present, and their goals. Your arborist will recommend the right cadence during the initial property walk-through.

  •

The program is designed to cover the trees that are candidates for seasonal pruning on your property. Not every tree needspruning every year; your arborist will identify which ones require attention this season and which are on a longer rotation, ensuring that care is applied where it will have the most benefit.

  •

The program works well for ornamental trees and shrubs (Japanese maple, crepe myrtle, dogwood, magnolia, flowering cherry, etc.), trees near structures or walkways, mature trees benefiting from a phased structural improvement approach, and privacy evergreens like arborvitae, Leyland cypress, and juniper.

  •

Scheduled pruning removes dead, weak, or co-dominant limbs and addresses structural defects, such as included bark, poor attachment angles, and excessive end weight, before they fail under wind or storm load. This significantly reduces the likelihood of limb failure and the resulting damage to your home, vehicles, and family.
