A 14th-generation Martha's Vineyard resident, Josh has deep roots in the community he serves. He founded Beetlebung Tree Care and led it for 30 years before partnering with SavATree in 2024. An ISA Certified Arborist with a degree in urban forestry from the University of Vermont, Josh brings unmatched local knowledge to every property across the Island.

Why did you become an arborist?

"From ages 11-21, I was employed as a groundskeeper on the 450 acre Kennedy estate in Aquinnah. Through my eduction in Urban Forestry and Landscape Horticulture at the University of Vermont, I further explored the vast green industry. Working with mentor Arborists to clean up from Hurricane Bob, I was very inspired by the science and athleticism of Arboriculture. I was hooked and Beetlebung Tree Care was born!"

"My family has settled and lived on Martha's Vineyard for (14) generations. I created, owned and managed legacy company Beetlebung Tree Care for (30) years before partnering with SavATree in 2024. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Josh carefully reviewed the scope of work in preparation and the crew (Cedar, Eric and Patrick ) executed the work flawlessly. They took special care not to damage the landscaping, even as they worked in difficult spots. They were professional, knowledgeable , friendly and just all-round good guys. Would highly recommend them .

Wonderful! The owner Josh knows all aspects of his trees. He visited my property promptly, explained to me what needed to be done, gave me an estimate and several days later sent 3 of his men. They worked hard for 2 days straight and my property looks amazing. There was no overcharge to the original estimate. I appreciate all of this.

Winter Moth Caterpillars are now gone & trees affected given a deep root fertilizer treatment. Invasive Wisteria treated. Charlie is knowledgeable and professional! The team is excellent! I will be using them every year :)

Great company to work with. They are excellent with communication, very affordable, and the crew was amazing. Fast, efficient, use excellent equipment and the site boss was great to be sure all his workers and our home remained safe at all times. I can't say enough about how satisfied I am with them. Five stars is not enough they deserve ten.
