Air Knife Excavation in Greeley, CO

Greeley CO Tree Service

May 25, 2019 – Trunk girdling roots are a common issue with trees in Colorado’s compacted, clay soils. Proper root development is critical for trees to survive and reach their maximum potential. This air knife excavation was performed on an Austrian pine and ash tree for one of my residential customers in Greeley, Colorado. The process started by removing the turf grass from under the trees. After excavation was complete, the bases of the trees were inspected for trunk girdling roots. The girdling roots were then pruned out. Lastly, we back filled the excavated areas with quality, organic compost and added a layer of natural wood mulch over the top. This will prevent canopy dieback, decline or mortality that can arise from trunk girdling roots. These trees will also be receiving an ArborKelp plus Mycorrhizae treatment in the summer to build root mass, reduce stress and increase tree vigor. Colorado has a very unique environment and all of our arborists and highly trained to deal with the unique tree, shrub and lawn conditions that exist. Contact one of SavATree’s certified arborists to have your Colorado property inspected!
