JJ operates out of SavATree’s Denver branch, located near Denver, CO. He provides comprehensive tree, shrub, lawn, tick and deer services to the DU area of Denver, CO. Qualifications:

JJ has been a part of the green industry for 14 years. He’s worked in tree care here in Denver since 2017. He has experience as a groundman, a climber, a plant health care technician, a sales arborist and management. He is a licensed Qualified Supervisor with the state of Colorado Department of Agriculture. He has been a licensed International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) arborist since 2020.

Education:

JJ attended the State University of New York at Buffalo and earned his bachelor’s degree in political science. He attended Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia where he studied Resource and Environmental Management focusing on urban forestry.

Personal:

JJ moved to Colorado in 2017 from Buffalo, NY. He enjoys camping, hiking, biking, fishing, gardening, live music and spending time with friends.

Why did you become an arborist?

“I grew up in Western New York, constantly outside and around trees. I helped my father with his land in the southern tier, building tree stands and planting trees. I worked with a forester in Lake Tahoe, CA as a sawyer, learning so much about trees and how they benefit the world. I studied urban forestry as a resource and learned how trees provide benefits for everyone. I want to help all the trees here in Colorado because they need it.”

"I lived out of a tent for a year all over the country while working for a non-profit conservation organization. I like cheese, trees and skis."

David, my arborist, is very knowledgeable about all varieties of trees and shrubs. I find him very experienced in diagnosing problems. I recently had my trees and shrubs receive deep root watering. Izzy, who applied the treatment, noticed that one of my trees was not on the list and asked if I wanted it treated. I did, and appreciated her care and thoroughness.

I didn’t know anything about tree care and decided to gather a few quotes and consult some experts. SavATree gave me the most competitive price and when David and the guys were out they were able to tell me a lot about trees and tree care and as a result my trees look great! We’ve utilized Savatree for multiple projects and thus far none have disappointed. Cody, our arborist, is easy to work with and efficient in his proposals and organizing work schedules.
