Meet Kay Sicheneder

Consulting Arborist at SavATree

Kay began her career in plant health care. For over twenty years, and at two tree services she gained a holistic approach to diagnosis and management of tree and shrub disorders, focusing on prevention of problems as well as their treatment. She also developed skills and knowledge needed for tree risk assessment and mitigation, tree appraisal, and forensics and expert opinion. Eight years as forester for Ann Arbor brought invaluable experience in municipal operations including planning, budgeting, contracting, and coordinating with other city departments. Kay ‘s strong communication skills were well utilized in understanding the priorities of residents, tax-payers, Forestry workers and the City.

For Kay, it was a natural path to move into consulting. She helps manage urban trees through tree inventories and management plans, and tree protection. Kay provides expert opinion on diagnosis, tree risk assessment, plant appraisal and other tree-related projects. In this capacity, Kay works for a variety of clients including attorneys, property owners, insurance adjusters, utilities, universities, county parks, and municipalities.

“My job is to ensure the client is supplied with appropriate information to make the right decision about their tree. This means being at the top of my game, with the knowledge and resources to provide accurate diagnosis and analysis, effective services, and clear, detailed communication. I apply this same principle when serving as an expert witness in cases involving trees. These situations can be difficult for those involved. My role is to provide fact-based, unbiased information that speaks to the case.”
