Customer Testimonials

“Let me say that Vassar's association with SavATree has been very positive and we are achieving great success in managing our campus trees in terms of safety and aesthetics. And our insurance carrier is quite pleased with this effort. Vassar is pleased with SavATree and the work being performed on campus.”

Jeffrey C. Horst, Vassar College
Poughkeepsie, NY

“Your tree crew (a father and two sons) just finished removing two trees, and pruning another on my property. They were extremely neat and professional, making sure that everything was they way they found it. I could not be more satisfied. I definitely plan on using your company for any future tree work on my property, and will also heartily recommend you to anyone I know needing your services.”

J. Andersen
Danbury, CT

“Efficient, high quality, professional competence — all at a competitive sum. At first [Alison] Pottage won me over by her solid knowledge as an arborist, then the crew did their job to her specifications on our 60 to 70 foot oaks within a remarkable period of time -- and left the grounds quite clean.”
Bob Busser
Philadelphia, PA

“You take on a job, call it a problem, gigantic or small, and you go to it. True Professionals. I am at peace for having found SavATree. Sometimes bills are paid grudgingly. I pay with respect to a company whose pride lives up to its logo. It’s love of what you do and I thank you.”

Arborists at Tree Service Companies and ISA Certification

Arborists and tree care industry professionals at every tree service company are not equal. The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) created a certified arborists program to ensure a high standard of professionalism in the tree care industry. Certified arborists complete a rigorous study and examination process that fruitions in a comprehensive exam. This voluntary educational program improves technical competency of participating personnel in the tree care industry. It also creates incentives for arborists to continue their professional development in the tree care industry no matter which tree service company they work for.

Tree Care Industry Customers Benefit From ISA Certification

Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) accreditation and ISA certification provide the public with a means to identify professionals in the tree care industry who have demonstrated a thorough knowledge of tree care practices, and affords the public the opportunity to make an informed selection of tree service companies based on the knowledge that is represented by the certification designation.

In order to qualify for certification, the arborist must have a minimum of three years experience in arboriculture. Acceptable experience includes practical use of knowledge involved in pruning, fertilization, installation and establishment, diagnosis and treatment of tree care problems, cabling and bracing, climbing and other services directly related to arboriculture. The requirement can also be satisfied with a 2-4 year degree in a related field and two years of practical experience in arboriculture or working for a tree service company. The exam is developed by the nations leading experts on tree care, and is divided up into 10 domains spanning from tree biology to practical applications. Upon completion of the exam, an arborist is initially certified for three years. In order to recertify, they must accumulate 30 continuing education units (CEU’s). This ensures that the arborist is keeping up to date with the latest research and techniques in the tree care industry.

Tree Service Companies WIth ISA Certified Arborists Are Your Best Choice

ISA certification is a challenging program that is designed to upgrade proficiency levels in arboriculture. The ISA made arborist certification on an international level a reality in 1992. To date, over 10,000 arborists worldwide have been certified. Because there are many tree care industry specialists who have little to no training at all, this certification conveys the arborist’s competence and commitment to professionalism in the tree care industry. From a tree service company’s perspective, certification credentials held by a job applicant provide a degree of assurance that the candidate is qualified.

Hiring an ISA certified arborist is not a guarantee, but it does indicate a core base of knowledge and experience in the tree care industry.  SavATree has ISA certified arborists on staff and encourages all new arborists to pursue certification.
