Customer Testimonials
“We appreciate the time and attention that your Arbor Patrol team takes to maintain the overall health and appearance of the trees, bushes and general grounds. As they say, you can only have one first impression and the impression the grounds make on both residents and visitors alike is always positive thanks to your caring maintenance. Just as the trees continue to grow and blossom under your care, we hope our relationship with SavATree does the same.”

“After four different unsatisfactory visits with so-called arborists, I found SavaTree... I was most impressed with the professionalism of David [my arborists] and his colleagues. They were most knowledgeable, fair with their assessment about what needed to be done, yet very attuned with what my concerns. I highly recommend them without any hesitation. In a field where there is an abundance of folks looking to take advantage of consumers, SavaTree, David and crew strike me as incredibly honest and proud arborists who do a fantastic job.”

Their highly qualified arborists have exacting standards and understand how to maintain the health and form of the various species of trees on my property. I admire the artistic skill that goes into the pruning and love the colorful blossoms, fruits and foliage that flourish as a result of their impeccable care.”

"Efficient, high quality, professional competence — all at a competitive sum. At first [Alison] Pottage won me over by her solid knowledge as an arborist, then the crew did their job to her specifications on our 60 to 70 foot oaks within a remarkable period of time -- and left the grounds quite clean.”

Emerald Ash Borer, Insect and Pest Control
SavATree Can Help Control Infestation by Tree Beetles, Deer Ticks, Grub Worms, Moths and More
Our insect control program can protect your landscape from the damaging effects of insect infestation by species including: tree beetles, deer ticks, grub worms, moths, mites and other destructive insects. We begin with a thorough inspection of your landscape by a professionally trained arborist, expert diagnosis and treatment, and careful, routine, monitoring.
Insects and mites usually attack plants that are in poor health and/or under stress. Therefore, your arborist's first priority is to restore the health of your trees and shrubs so that they can naturally resist insect and mite infestation. Our insect control philosophy is to use low impact methods and ingredients to minimize populations of insects and mites while maintaining environmental sensibility.
Common Insect Control Problems
Some insects and mites are harmless to your trees and shrubs, but others can cause fatal results. The most common insect infestations include hemlock woolly adelgid, aphids, winter moth, canker worm, grub worm, gypsy moth, inch worm, and borers of many varieties.
Some insect species that we treat for include:
- Tree Borers and Tree Beetles:
- Moths:
Many species of moth, including winter moth and gypsy moth, can be especially harmful to trees. They feed on the leaves and fruit of trees and shrubs and can defoliate a tree, severely stressing it and putting it at risk for secondary pests or diseases.

- Aphids
We also offer treatment options for:
- Mosquitoes
- Deer and Other Ticks
Deer tick control is important for protecting your family and pets from exposure to Lyme disease infected ticks. This treatment is applied to the ecotone areas and sometimes to the lawn areas of your landscape to provide an immediate reduction in the number of ticks on your property. The ecotone is the boundary zone between lawn areas and wooded areas and is the preferred habitat of the deer tick. Control of tick population in this area of your yard is vital because according to published research, approximately 90% of deer ticks on a property will be found in the ecotone areas. We advocate deer tick control treatments at the end of May/early June and again in September as a minimum, and monthly treatments during the following season as the maximum. Learn more…
Control of these species in the least intrusive manner is made possible by SavATree's technologically advanced scheduling system. We treat each species effecting your property at the most advantageous time to ensure efficacy and environmental integrity.
Not all bugs are bad for plants and trees – case in point, bees. Bees play an extremely vital role in the lifecycle of plants.
Just as animals depend on leaving healthy descendants behind so that their species will not die out, plants, flowers and trees rely on the cross-pollination carried out by bees and other insects to ensure the continuation of their own species. Learn more about bees.
Tree Beetles and Borers
Borers such as lilac, rhododendron, shot hole, dogwood, bronze birch and elm bark beetles are damaging insects. Without plant health care and/or insect control services, they can cause extensive damage by feeding in the conductive tissues of the trunk and larger branches. This feeding damage cuts off the supply of nutrients and water to the canopy usually resulting in death of the tree. Learn more…
