It was great to see you this morning at 8 a.m. sharp. As you promised, you and your crew arrived prepared to prune my 38 year old cherry tree.
Wilfredo Dubon and his assistants, Jose Lindo and Lemus, arrived early to be ready to begin when you arrived. Mr. Dubon informed me how they would prune the tree with care to restore its vibrancy, health, and beauty. It had suffered a “topdown cut” at another company’s hands some years ago. He was most professional and knowledgeable and certainly kind.
I admired their work for two hours as I worked inside. I observed them carefully removing the clusters of branches that had grown wildly for some time. Their expertise means so much to me. This tree greets each one of my 75 piano students year-round. Every day, 10-12 children and teens see the birds’ nests and the buds appear in spring. They dance in the pink blossoms that shower the townhouse yards with petals in May, just like pink snow. In summer, they experience the shade and the shelter from soft, refreshing rain. In the fall, they climb the low-lying branches and pat the trunk with tenderness as Halloween approaches and the days grow dark.
More personally, this is the tree that shaded my husband’s office upstairs in hot summer months after he became disabled. He wrote blogs and researched topics in science that he had waited all his life to pursue. The cherry tree was his delight. Upon his death, I vowed to keep the tree as long as possible.
I keep a tiny light in the window that shines through the big cherry tree in his memory of the beautiful tree-friend that sheltered him in the heat of summer and protected him from the harsh, cold winds of winter.
Mr. Dubon and his crew performed a superlative service to my household today. Please extend my deep appreciation to them, to you, and to your company.
Best wishes in your service to others and to the plants that keep us healthy and happy.
