Arborist Conducts Workshop at West Newbury MA Garden Club
West Newbury, MA—Ann Bennett, a Massachusetts Certified Arborist from SavATree, held an educational tree care seminar for members of the West Newbury Garden Club in Essex County MA on Thursday, February 7.
Ms. Bennett’s educational program focused on the advantages of having healthy trees in a landscape. Bennett explained how to elongate tree life by increasing vigor through regular tree pruning, fertilization, and careful monitoring to protect them from insects and disease. Bennett also discussed how to properly plant trees; tree characteristics and structure and how they can be used for shade, borders, and screens.
Bennett said, “Proper tree pruning, fertilizing, and lawn care enhances the value and beauty of a property. I always enjoy spreading information about various horticulture care techniques, especially to the engaged and interested members of the garden club.”
The West Newbury Garden Club is a member of the National Garden Clubs and the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts, interested in promoting and fostering an interest in gardening, guarding natural resources, supporting the study of horticulture, and promoting civic beauty.
