Ground Zero New York Tree Service Reclamation Project
New York, NY —April 17, 2002— St. Paul’s Chapel, which has served as a relief center for emergency and rescue workers at Ground Zero, welcomed a team of arborists and landscape professionals who performed much needed tree care. The services were donated by SavATree, a leading tree and shrub care provider. Experienced climbers removed remaining debris, which included embedded glass, aluminum blinds, clothing and drapery from the specimen Sycamore, Elm and Oak trees on this historic property. Perhaps the most challenging task was accomplishing the reclamation without damaging the fence around the chapel now serving as a memorial shrine. This project involved 30 tree care experts from SavATree’s fifteen offices from Manassas, Virginia up to Boston, Massachusetts. “Like many companies, we were searching for a way to contribute our talents to the restoration efforts. We are honored to be provide tree care services to the historic grounds surrounding St. Paul’s Chapel,” stated Daniel Van Starrenburg, President, SavATree.
