SavATree Sponsors Kid-Friendly Activities at May Gardeners Market in Cos Cob CT

Cos Cob, CT—May 5, 2007—SavATree sponsored the children’s program at the 46th Annual May Gardeners Market in Cos Cob CT, on Saturday May 5, 2007. This year’s theme was “Birds in the Garden.” All residents of the Fairfield County CT community, including Bethel, Bridgeport, Brookfield, Danbury, Darien, Greenwich, Monroe, New Canaan, Redding, Stanford, Westport, and Wilton CT were invited to participate.

The event kicked off at 8 A.M. with a bird walk for adults guided by Ted Gilman of the Audubon Society in Montgomery Pinetum. At 1:30 P.M., there was an entertaining children’s program with bird related activate that taught kids all about the characteristics and habits of birds native to the Cos Cob CT community. SavATree arborists were available throughout the duration of the festival to answer any tree care related questions adult attendees may have had. There was also a garden shop and concession stands.

“The area was so beautiful it was like you stepped into another world! The location had just the right combination of shade and sun. I started to loose count of the amount of hawks and woodpeckers I saw,” commented Jacqlyn Shelomis of SavATree.

The event featured a custom built SavATree Arbor Patrol tree care truck for the children to play on. T-shirts and other “Jr. Arborist” items were also handed out to kids who participated in the tree care related activities.
